About EDIF

The infrastructure gap Australia
can't afford to ignore.

EDIF is an Australian infrastructure fund that develops, structures, and manages Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) anchored by heavy electric vehicle charging hubs. Each SPV is a discrete, asset-backed investment vehicle with a defined capital structure, clear cashflow mechanics, and a direct path to profitability.

Australia's heavy road freight sector is one of the nation's largest sources of carbon emissions — and one of its greatest diesel dependencies. Battery electric heavy vehicles are now commercially available at scale. The missing piece is purpose-built, high-capacity charging infrastructure.

EDIF exists to build that infrastructure — aligning with national decarbonisation priorities, supporting fleet electrification, and helping mitigate supply chain risks.

Own & Operate

Each EDIF SPV owns the grid connection, PCS/EMS, charging piles, and land lease — tangible infrastructure assets with long economic lives.

Heavy EV Focus

Designed exclusively for battery electric heavy vehicles — Class 8 trucks and prime movers — where the charging infrastructure gap is most acute.

Wholesale Returns

Open exclusively to wholesale investors. Target returns at mature utilisation, backed by EDIF infrastructure assets.

De-risked Operations

Hub operations are fully contracted to Solarh2e — removing operational complexity from the fund and stabilising investor returns from day one.

The Case for Heavy EV Infrastructure

The freight sector can't wait.

Australia imports approximately 90% of its diesel fuel. Heavy road freight — trucks, prime movers, and logistics vehicles — accounts for a disproportionate share of both fuel consumption and transport-related carbon emissions nationally.

Battery electric heavy vehicles are now commercially available at scale. Global manufacturers including SANY, Volvo and Scania are delivering Class 8 electric prime movers capable of handling Australia's domestic freight task. The vehicles are here. The technology is proven.

What is missing is the charging infrastructure to support fleet-scale adoption. Fleet operators cannot commit to electric vehicles without confidence that charging exists at the scale and reliability they need. EDIF is purpose-built to provide exactly that.

For investors, this represents a rare convergence: genuine national need, government policy tailwind, a clear commercial model and first-mover infrastructure positioning.

How We Invest

The EDIF model

From site selection to investor returns — five stages that transform raw grid capacity into a profitable charging infrastructure asset.

01

Site & Grid

Identify strategic industrial land. Secure a contracted 4–5MW grid connection — the hardest-to-replicate component of each hub. Final Investment Decision

02

Capital Raise

Raise equity from wholesale investors via a Class Fund linked to the SPV. IM and Supplementary IM available on request.

03

Hub Construction

Install PCS/EMS, 400kW fast chargers, 80kW overnight chargers, and SANY 6-minute battery swap station. Purpose-built for heavy EVs.

04

Support Incentives

Pursue government co-funding to bridge operational costs during the utilisation ramp-up in years one to three.

05

Operations & Returns

Solarh2e operates the hub. At 40% grid utilisation, the fund delivers the target return to investors. See IM for details

The Assets

Infrastructure you can
see, touch, and measure.

Every EDIF SPV is built around four tangible infrastructure components — each owned by the SPV and each contributing to the hub's long-term asset value.

Grid Connection — 4–5MW

A contracted connection to the distribution network — secured, commissioned, and owned by the SPV. Grid connections of this scale in established industrial precincts are time-intensive to obtain and difficult to replicate, making this a genuine infrastructure moat for each EDIF hub.

EDIF works closely with our infrastructure developers and engineering partners to identify, scope and deliver on these locations and connections.

🔌 Charging Infrastructure

Three purpose-configured charging solutions covering the full spectrum of heavy and light EV needs:

400kW Fast Chargers — High-power DC fast charging for Class 8 trucks and prime movers during operational breaks.
SANY Battery Swap Station — 6-minute battery swap for SANY-compatible heavy EVs. Eliminates charge wait time entirely.
80kW Overnight Chargers — Depot-style overnight bays for trucks at rest; available to light commercial vehicles during the day.

⚙️ PCS / EMS

Commercial-grade Power Conversion Systems and Energy Management Systems manage the interface between the grid connection, on-site renewable generation, battery storage, and the charging infrastructure. Real-time load management, remote diagnostics, and 24/7 monitoring enable efficient, reliable hub operations.

📍 Land Lease

Each hub is built on a long-term leased site — industrial-zoned land selected for logistics access, proximity to freight corridors, and grid availability. Lease terms are structured to align with the investment horizon of the fund, providing tenure certainty for the asset and investors.

Fund Governance

Managed with integrity.

EDIF operates under a rigorous governance framework appropriate to an AFSL-licensed wholesale infrastructure fund. Investment is restricted to wholesale investors under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
